Shift Lever Position Switch (A/T)

  1. Shift lever position switch is mounted on side of transaxle. Unplug shift lever position switch 10, 12 or 14-pin connector.
  2. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between shift lever position switch 10, 12 or 14-pin connector terminals with shift lever 62in "2", "D" and "D4" positions. See SHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  . SeeFigure .
  3. If continuity exists in each position, shift lever position switch is okay. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  4. Check shift lever position switch adjustment. See procedures under SHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH  under ADJUSTMENTS. If shift lever position switch adjustment is okay, replace shift lever position switch.
