Test I: Abs Light Stays On Continuously With Ignition On
- Check fuse No. 31 (10-amp) located in instrument panel fuse block. See Figure . If fuse is blown, go to step 4 . If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector terminal No. 15. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair circuit between ABS/TCS control unit and fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch Off. Disconnect connector from ABS/TCS control unit. Check continuity between control unit connector terminal No. 21 and body ground. If continuity exist, check harness for open or short between control unit and fuse. If continuity does not exist, check control unit pin terminals for damage or the connection of the control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . Reconnect ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . Perform self-diagnostics, see SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
- Replace fuse No. 31 (10-amp) located in the instrument panel fuse block. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to the On position. If fuse blew out, go to next step. If fuse did not blow out, circuit is okay.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . Check continuity between body ground and ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector terminal No. 15. If continuity exists, repair short to ground in circuit between ABS/TCS control unit and fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity does not exist, check control unit pin terminals for damage or the connection of the control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . If a problem is found, repair as necessary. Retest system to confirm problem was fixed or no longer exist.
