ASCD Hold Relay Circuit Check
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove ASCD hold relay. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between at terminal No. 7 (White/Black wire) at ASCD hold relay connector. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for the following and repair as necessary:
- Faulty fuse No. 12 (7.5-amp) in instrument panel fuse box.
- Open or short in harness between fuse and ASCD hold relay.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) at ASCD hold relay connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open or poor connection in Black wire.
- Check continuity between terminals No. 1 (Brown wire) and No. 6 (Black/White wire) at ASCD hold relay connector. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, check ASCD hold relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Check ASCD main switch. See SWITCHES
under COMPONENT TESTS. If ASCD main switch is defective, replace ASCD main switch. If ASCD main switch is okay, go to ASCD BRAKE/STOPLIGHT SWITCH CHECK
