PCM (Powertrain Control Module)/TCM (Transmission Control Module)

The PCM/TCM randomly monitors memory checksum by performing a self-test. These tests are implemented to verify that all of the vehicle software operational calculations are operating properly. If the test fails due to incorrect checksum, the PCM/TCM determines there is a checksum value error.
