Failure Conditions

ECM will set DTC P0501 and illuminate MIL if there is no vehicle speed sensor output signal for 20 seconds during 2 drive cycles when the following conditions are met:

• Engine speed is more than 2200 RPM.
• Engine load is more than 3 milliseconds.

This DTC indicates no speed signal is being read by vehicle speed sensor or ECM.
