DTC P1109: Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor Circuit Out of Range High: General Description

The barometric pressure (BARO) sensor is built into the powertrain control module (PCM), and it monitors atmospheric pressure. The PCM estimates appropriate intake airflow from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor output voltage and the BARO sensor output voltage. If the BARO sensor output voltage is a specified range, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
