Repair Procedures: Disassembly

  1. Compress the coil spring with a strut spring compressor. Do not compress the spring excessively.
  2. Remove the lock nut (B) after removing the cover (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    24.5 ~ 29.4N.m (2.5 ~ 3.0kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 18.1 lb-ft)

  3. Gradually turn the bolt on the spring compressor to slowly release the tension from the spring. Then, disconnect the components.
  4. Reassembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
CAUTION:
  • Do not reuse the self locking nut.
  • When compressing the coil spring, place the hook to have bilateral symmetry.

  • If the centerline of the shock absorber does not align with the coil spring, push the shock absorber to align the centerline.
