Removal Procedure

  1. Remove underbody panels as necessary. Underbody Panel Component Locator
  2. Drain the drive motor battery cooling system. Drive Motor Battery Cooling System Draining and Filling
  3. Disable the high voltage system. High Voltage Disabling

    Drive Motor Battery Charger Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  5. Retainer (2) - Disconnect

    Drive Motor Battery Charger Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  7. High Voltage Connector (2) - Disconnect - High Voltage Connectors

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

  9. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Disconnect [2x]
  10. Position a suitable jack under the rear drive unit to support it.

    Rear Drive Motor Mount Bolt - M14 x 125.43 (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Reposition the jack as necessary to remove rear drive motor mount.

  13. Rear Drive Motor Mount Bolt - M12 x 60.90 (1) - Remove and DISCARD [4x]

    Rear Drive Motor Mount (1) - Remove

    Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Transmission fluid cooler pipe seals are not serviceable separately.

    Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Retainer (1) - Disengage

  18. Rear Electric Drive Transmission Module Coolant Hose (2) - Remove

    Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  20. NOTE:

    Drive motor power inverter module cover seal is not serviceable separately.

  21. Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover (2) - Remove

    Using a magnetic socket, remove the 3 drive motor power inverter module connector terminal bolts (1).

    Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Bolt (1) - Remove [16x]

    Drive Motor Control Module 2 (1) - Remove

  25. Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover Gasket (2) - Remove
