Preliminary Procedure Strut Assembly Removal and Installation To prevent personal injury and/or component damage, use the proper tools to support and compress the coil spring prior to removal of the strut shaft nut when removing the coil spring. The coil spring is under extreme pressure and can become a projectile should the spring separate from the strut before all of the tension is relieved. |

Refer to Fastener Caution .
CAUTION:
Do not allow the absorber rod to rotate during disassembly/reassembly. Use hand tools to keep the absorber rod from rotating. If air tools are used, and the rod is allowed to rotate, damage to the absorber may occur. Procedure
Tighten 55 N.m (41 lb ft) Special Tools

| 2 | Front Suspension Strut Mount
CAUTION:
Do not handle the top mount assembly by the plastic portion. Handle the top mount assembly by the metal portion when removing/installing the top mount from/to the strut assembly. Holding the top mount assembly by the plastic portion may loosen the snap fit of the bearing components and cause the bearing to fall apart.
NOTE:
The front suspension strut mount has a flat edge on one side of the mount. Align the flat edge opposite of the steering knuckle bracket. |
