Installation Procedure

- Position the front lower control arm (1) on the vehicle.
- Install a NEW front lower control arm front bolt (2) and NEW nut (1).
- Tighten the NEW front lower control arm front nut (1).
- First pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Second pass: Loosen one to two revolutions.
- Third pass: 115 N.m (85 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (90-105 degrees)
- Install NEW front lower control arm rear bolts (2) and NEW nuts (1).
- Tighten the NEW front lower control arm rear nuts (1) to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
- Connect the front lower control arm ball stud (1) to the steering knuckle and start the front lower control arm ball stud nut (2) by hand.
- Tighten the front lower control arm ball stud nut (2):
Tighten
- First Pass: 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Final Pass: (155-175 degrees)
- Do NOT loosen the front lower control arm ball stud nut when installing the front lower control arm ball stud nut cotter pin.
- The front lower control arm ball stud nut cotter pin must NOT contact the front wheel speed sensor or the front wheel drive shaft.
- Install a NEW front lower control arm ball stud nut cotter pin (3).
- Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
