Model Identification

NOTE: Basic Diagnostic Procedure information for "C" & "K" Series, 6.6L (VIN 1) "C" & "K" Series, 8.1L (VIN G) "C" & "K" Series and 8.1L (VIN G) "G" Series is not available.

Vehicle model is identified by fifth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). VIN is stamped on metal pad on top of left end of instrument panel, near windshield. See MODEL IDENTIFICATION  table.

"M" (2) Astro & Safari
"S" (2) Blazer, Jimmy, Sonoma & S10 Pickup
"T" (3) Blazer, Bravada, Jimmy, Sonoma & S10 Pickup
"U" Montana, Silhouette & Venture
(1) Vehicle series is fifth character of VIN.
(2) Two-wheel drive.
(3) Four-wheel or all-wheel drive.
