Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization

Initialization

WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: The roof opening panel motor must be initialized when repairs are carried out on the roof opening panel system, including: any time the roof opening panel motor has been removed, the roof opening panel glass has been removed or adjusted, or if the roof opening panel frame has been removed.

NOTE: All passenger doors must remain closed for this procedure and the sunroof must start out in the fully closed position.

Open the driver's door and turn the the ignition switch to ON position.
Open the roof opening panel shield to the fully open position.
Close the driver's door and press the roof opening panel close switch to vent open.
Open the driver's door and leave open.
Turn ignition off then ON.
Press and hold the roof opening panel close switch until the full cycle is complete.
Release the switch and verify proper operation.
