In-Vehicle Repair: FLEXPLATE: Installation

- Install the flexplate.
- Install the special tool.
- Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown in three stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
- Stage 3: Tighten to 112 Nm (83 lb-ft).
- Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - A/T .
NOTE:
Engine balancing is not required. Balance weights should not be installed on the new flywheel.
NOTE:
Special nuts are used for installation. Do not use standard nuts.
