Test A: Both Mirrors Inoperative

NOTE: Perform all voltage and resistance tests using a Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.
  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove driver's door trim panel. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect power mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C527, located under door trim panel. See Figure . Measure voltage between ground and power mirror control switch harness connector C527 terminal No. 5 (Dark Green wire). See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, repair open circuit in Dark Green wire between power mirror control switch and Central Junction Box (CJB). CJB is located behind left side of instrument panel. See Figure . After repair, test system for normal operation.
  2. Ensure rear window defogger switch is turned off. Measure resistance between ground and power mirror control switch harness connector C527 terminal No. 1 (Black wire). See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open or short circuit in Black wire between power mirror control switch and ground located on driver's side "A" pillar. See Figure . After repair, test system for normal operation.
  3. Disconnect driver's side power mirror 8-pin harness connector C520, located under door trim panel. See Figure . Measure resistance between driver's side power mirror harness connector C520 terminal No. 5 and power mirror control switch harness connector C527 terminal No. 6 (Yellow wire). See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace power mirror control switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open or short circuit in Yellow wire between driver's side power mirror and power mirror control switch. After repair, test system for normal operation.
