Test D: Door Locks Inoperative

  1. Check Driver Door Lock Switch Input  - Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID DD_LOCK while operating driver door lock switch in lock and unlock positions. If DDM PID DD_LOCK indicates LOCK in lock position and UNLOCK in unlock position, go to next step. If DDM PID DD_LOCK does not indicate LOCK in lock position or UNLOCK in unlock position, go to step 3).
  2. Check Passenger Door Lock Switch Input  - Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID DD_LOCK while operating passenger door lock switch. If DDM PID DD_LOCK indicates LOCK in lock position and UNLOCK in unlock position, go to step 19). If DDM PID DD_LOCK does not indicate LOCK in lock position or UNLOCK in unlock position, go to next step.
  3. Check Door Lock Operation  - Press driver and passenger door lock switches to LOCK and UNLOCK position. If all door locks operate properly, system is operating properly at this time. If all doors do not operate properly from either switch, go to next step. If door locks do not operate from driver door lock switch only, go to step 6). If door locks do not operate properly from passenger door lock switch only, go to step 11).
  4. Check Fuse  - Check condition of fuse No. 8 (15-amp) in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is not okay, go to step 16).
  5. Check Power Supply To Fuse  - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 8 input cavity. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Light Green/Yellow wire and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair Black/Orange wire between instrument panel fuse block and engine compartment fuse box. Retest system operation.
  6. Check Light Green/Yellow Wire For Voltage  - Disconnect driver door lock switch connector C503. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and driver door lock switch connector C503 terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair Light Green/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
  7. Check Driver Door Lock Switch  - Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID DD_LOCK. Connect a jumper wire between driver door lock switch connector C503 terminals No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire) and No. 3 (Pink/Yellow wire). If DDM PID DD_LOCK does not indicate LOCK, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If DDM PID DD_LOCK indicates LOCK, go to step 9).
  8. Check Pink/Yellow Wire For Open  - Disconnect DDM 18-pin connector C519 (located inside driver's door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 18-pin connector C519 terminal No. 10 (Pink/Yellow wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Pink/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
  9. Check Driver Door Lock Switch  - Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID DD_LOCK. Connect a jumper wire between driver door lock switch connector C503 terminals No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire) and No. 7 (Pink/Light Green wire). If DDM PID DD_LOCK does not indicate UNLOCK, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If DDM PID DD_LOCK indicates UNLOCK, replace driver door lock switch and retest system operation.
  10. Check Pink/Light Green Wire For Open  - Disconnect DDM 18-pin connector C519 (located inside driver's door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 18-pin connector C519 terminal No. 2 (Pink/Light Green wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Pink/Light Green wire and retest system operation.
  11. Check Light Green/Yellow Wire For Voltage  - Disconnect passenger door lock switch connector C616. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and passenger door lock switch connector C616 terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair Light Green/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
  12. Check Passenger Door Lock Switch  - Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID DD_LOCK. Connect a jumper wire between passenger door lock switch connector C616 terminals No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire) and No. 3 (Pink/Yellow wire). If DDM PID DD_LOCK does not indicate LOCK, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If DDM PID DD_LOCK indicates LOCK, go to step 14).
  14. Check Passenger Door Lock Switch  - Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID DD_LOCK. Connect a jumper wire between passenger door lock switch connector C616 terminals No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire) and No. 7 (Pink/Light Green wire). If DDM PID DD_LOCK does not indicate UNLOCK, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If DDM PID DD_LOCK indicates UNLOCK, replace driver door lock switch and retest system operation.
  16. Check Light Green/Yellow Wire For Short To Ground  - Disconnect driver door lock switch connector C503, passenger door lock switch connector C616, and keypad connector C505. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door lock switch connector C503 terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Green/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
  17. Check Keypad Circuits For Short To Ground  - Disconnect DDM 12-pin connector C518 and DDM 18-pin connector C519 located inside driver's door. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and all keypad connector C505 wire terminals. If all resistances are more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If any resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate circuit(s) and retest system operation.
