Testing By Mode

NOTE: Self test must be run before mode testing. Also, mode testing must be initiated within 15 seconds of self-test, or mirror will default to standard operating mode.
  1. Turn ignition to RUN. Manual dim pushbutton should illuminate steadily, and the mirror should darken. If button and mirror do not operate as specified, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
  2. If autolamp indicator and autolamp ON indicator are illuminated steadily, and headlamps do not come on, then repair open in White/Purple wire or replace exterior lamps relay.
  3. Place gear selector lever in Reverse. Manual dim button indicator should extinguish and mirror should return to full bright condition. If light and mirror do not behave as specified, repair open Black/Pink wire or defect in backup lamps circuit.
  4. All button lights should extinguish as mirror exits mode testing.
