Speed Control Inoperative

  1. Inspect all electrical and vacuum connections. Repair as necessary. If all connections are okay, go to next step.
  2. Test stoplight circuit. Test for brake input signal at pin No. 6 (Red/Light Green wire). Repair brake input circuit as necessary.
  3. Check horn. If horn works properly, go to next step. If horn does not work properly, repair horn circuit. 4)Inspect actuator cable for proper connection at each end. Go to next step if cable is connected properly. Repair as necessary.
  4. Inspect actuator cable for proper operation. See ACTUATOR CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS. If actuator cable operates properly, go to next step. Adjust or replace actuator cable as necessary.
  5. Check for vacuum at servo. There must be 2.5" minimum vacuum for system to operate properly. If there is no vacuum, go to next step. If vacuum is okay, go to step 8).
  6. Test vacuum dump valve. See VACUUM DUMP VALVE TEST  . Replace vacuum dump valve as necessary. If vacuum dump valve is okay, replace hose.
  7. Test all switches. See CONTROL SWITCH & CIRCUIT TEST  . If switches are okay, go to next step. Repair as necessary.
  8. Test servo. See SERVO TEST  . If servo is okay, go to next step. Replace servo if defective.
  9. Temporarily substitute known good amplifier, then retest system. If amplifier is okay, recheck all electrical and vacuum connections.
