Washer Pump Test

  1. If washer does not operate, ensure reservoir is full. Operate washer switch. If washer pump is inoperative, go to next step. If washer pump operates but fluid does not squirt from nozzles, inspect nozzles and hoses for blockage.
  2. Check for voltage on Black/White wire at washer pump while operating washer switch. If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, go to step 4).
  3. Check washer pump ground circuit (Black wire) for continuity. If continuity does not exist, repair ground circuit. If continuity exists, replace washer pump.
  4. Turn ignition and wipers on. If wipers do not operate, go to step 6). If wipers operate, go to next step.
  5. Press and hold washer switch. Check for voltage at Black/White wire at wiper switch connector. If voltage is not present, go to step 8). If voltage is present, go to step 7).
  6. Turn on heater blower. If heater blower does not operate, repair power supply circuit between ignition switch and fuse panel. If heater blower operates, go to next step.
  7. Remove WIPER circuit breaker. Check continuity of circuit breaker. If continuity does not exist, replace circuit breaker. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  8. Check wiper switch. See WIPER SWITCH TEST  . If wiper switch is okay, go to next step. If wiper switch fails test, replace wiper switch.
  9. Turn ignition on. Check for voltage on Red wire at wiper switch connector. If voltage is not present, repair Red wire. If voltage is present, repair wiper system wiring or connectors.
