WASTEGATE & WASTEGATE Actuator

The wastegate controls amount of pressure introduced into intake manifold. As pressure approaches a preset limit, wastegate actuator begins to open wastegate, permitting a portion of exhaust gases to by-pass turbine wheel and directly into exhaust pipe. See Figure .
