Wiper/Washer Systems: Description

Windshield wipers are actuated by a permanent magnet, rotary-type electric motor. The 2 wiper arms and blades are mounted on pivot shafts at each side of windshield.

The Aerostar uses standard and interval wipers with an instrument panel mounted control switch. The Bronco II and Ranger have a steering column mounted control switch. The circuit is protected by a separate 6-amp circuit breaker that is located at fuse block.

The Aerostar and Bronco II rear window wiper system consists of a motor mounted inside liftgate, an articulating arm and blade assembly, an instrument panel mounted control switch, and an in-line circuit breaker.
