Removal And Installation: Installation

- Position the steering column in the vehicle. Install the four steering column to dash frame fasteners, and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Connect the two EPS wire harness connectors (2).
- Install and tighten the screws (1b), and the nut (1c) for the airbag support frame.
- Install the Data Link Connector (DLC) into the dash frame.
- Install the intermediate shaft (1b) to the steering gear. Tighten the intermediate shaft pinch fastener (1a) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the driver knee airbag. Refer to AIR BAG, KNEE BLOCKER, INSTALLATION .
- Install the sentry key antenna. Refer to ANTENNA, SENTRY KEY, INSTALLATION .
- Install the clockspring. Refer to CLOCKSPRING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the steering wheel. Refer to WHEEL, STEERING, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
