Test NS-8A: Repairing A Start & Stall Condition

At this point in diagnostic test procedure, all engine electrical control systems have been determined to be operating as designed and not causing a start and stall problem. Following additional items should be checked as possible causes:

• Check for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) relating to start and stall condition.
• Check valve timing.
• Check engine compression.
• Check exhaust system for restrictions.
• Ensure PCV system is functioning properly.
• Check for proper position of engine drive sprockets.
• Check fuel for contamination.
• Check secondary ignition system.
