Checking Fluid Level
CAUTION:
Using a transmission fluid other than the manufacturer's recommended fluid may cause deterioration in transmission shift quality. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS
.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Ensure vehicle is level. Clean any dirt from around the fill plug located on the left side of the transmission case. See Fig 1 . Remove the transmission fill plug from the transmission.
- Ensure transmission fluid is level with bottom of fill plug hole. Add appropriate fluid, if necessary. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS .
- Install the transmission fill plug to the transmission. Tighten the transmission fill plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower the vehicle.
