Full Open Switch: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2004 Dodge Caravan, and 2004 Chrysler Town & Country. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Vehicles equipped with a power sliding door utilize a full open switch. This switch is located in the hold open latch (Fig 1 ) under the side door lower hinge. When the power side door module receives a ground signal input from the full open switch, and as long as the cinching latch actuator is not in power mode or the handle switch is open, the signal indicates that the door is at the full open position.

The full open switch is incorporated into the hold open latch. If the full open switch proves faulty, the entire hold open latch assembly must be replaced.
