Engine Coolant Thermostat: Installation

  1. Install the thermostat housing with a new o-ring. Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
  2. Connect the upper radiator hose.
  3. Fill the cooling system. See STANDARD PROCEDURE - REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  4. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
  5. Recheck the coolant level and adjust as necessary.
