Diagnosis And Testing-Clutch Interlock/UPSTOP Switch: LHD
NOTE:
2.0/2.4L-equipped models do not use the clutch pedal upstop switch/feature. These vehicles will only utilize the starter inhibit (interlock) feature.
The clutch interlock/upstop switch is an assembly consisting of two switches: an engine starter inhibit switch (interlock) and a clutch pedal upstop switch (Fig 1 ). The switch assembly is located in the clutch/brake pedal bracket assembly (Fig 2 ), each switch being fastened by four plastic wing tabs. The connector is secured to the pedal/bracket assembly by a plastic retainer.
