Chime Inoperative With External Lamps On

NOTE: Perform CHIME TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn headlights on. Using scan tool, read headlight status. If scan tool displays HEADLAMPS ON, go to step  3. If scan tool does not display HEADLAMPS ON, go to next step.
  2. Turn headlights off. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure. Turn headlights on. Go to next step.
  3. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals No. 2 (Yellow wire) and No. 19 (White wire) on BCM Black harness connector. If resistance is 200-240 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is not 200-240 ohms, go to EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A .
  4. Ensure left front door is open. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace BCM. If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 1A .
