Pump/Motor Circuit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Plymouth Acclaim and 1995 Dodge Spirit. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see wiring diagram.
  1. Ensure pump/motor is still actuating. If pump/motor is cycling, go to TEST 10D. If pump/motor is not cycling, disconnect modulator assembly 10-pin connector. Inspect, clean and repair connector as necessary. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on modulator assembly 10-pin connector Brown/White wire. If voltage does not switch to more than 9.5 volts, repair open in Brown/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If voltage switches to more than 9.5 volts, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of modulator assembly 10-pin connector terminal No. 10 (Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace modulator assembly. Perform TEST VER-1A.
