Electronic Spark Advance Check
- Set basic timing. Obtain engine operating temperature. The temperature sensor must be connected and operating properly.
- Remove and plug vacuum hose at vacuum transducer. Connect an auxiliary vacuum supply to vacuum transducer and set for 16 in. Hg.
- Raise engine speed to 2000 RPM, wait one minute and check. Advance specifications are in addition to basic advance. If specified readings are not obtained, replace computer.
CAUTION:
It is necessary to use a metal exhaust tube while performing this test, due to high temperatures and long test periods.
