Horns Diagnostic System Check

  1. If vehicle is equipped with Content Theft Deterrent (CTD), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with CTD, repair horn system as necessary. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  2. Attempt to enter Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic mode. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  . If BCM enters diagnostic mode, go to next step. If BCM does not enter diagnostic mode, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  3. If BCM displays any DTCs, go to next step. If BCM does not display any DTCs, repair horn system as necessary. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  4. If BCM displays DTC 7, perform DTC 7: HORN SYSTEM  . If BCM does not display DTC 7, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See BODY CONTROL MODULE DTC INDEX  table under ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS.
