A/C Compressor Control Relay

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) energizes A/C control relay for compressor operation. If PCM receives a signal indicating Wide Open Throttle (WOT) or excessive engine heat, it will de-energize A/C control relay, stopping A/C compressor operation. During hot engine restart, compressor engagement is delayed 3 seconds until engine idle stabilizes.
