- If oil indicator lights for approximately 1.5 seconds or remains lit constantly when ignition switch is turned to RUN position, go to step 3). If oil indicator does not light with oil level low, go to step 6). If oil indicator does not light for approximately 1.5 seconds when ignition is turned to RUN position, disconnect instrument cluster connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using voltmeter, check voltage at instrument cluster connector terminal "K" (Pink wire).
- If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Pink wire. If battery voltage is present, check voltage at instrument cluster connector terminal "M" (Orange/Black wire). If battery voltage is not present, check for open in Orange/Black wire. If Orange/Black wire is okay, replace multi-function alarm module located on left side of steering column, on convenience center. If battery voltage is present, check bulb. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster.
- If oil indicator remains lit with oil level normal, disconnect oil level switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between oil level switch connector terminal "B" (Brown wire) and ground. Remove ALARM fuse (15-amp) for 30 seconds, then replace fuse. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- If oil indicator remains lit, check for open in Brown wire. If Brown wire is okay, replace instrument cluster. If oil indicator goes out, disconnect oil level switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between oil level switch connector terminals "B" (Brown wire) and "A" (Black wire). Remove ALARM fuse (15-amp) for 30 seconds, then replace fuse. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- If oil indicator remains lit, check for open in Black wire. Repair or replace as necessary. If oil indicator goes out, replace oil level switch.
- Disconnect oil level switch connector. Remove ALARM fuse (15-amp) for 30 seconds, then replace fuse. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If oil indicator lights, replace oil level switch. If oil indicator does not light, check for short to ground in Brown wire. If Brown wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
