Wiper Switch Resistance Test

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and wiper motor assembly wiring harness connector. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and wiper switch to LO position.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between harness connector terminals "A" (White wire) and "C" (Gray wire). If about 350 ohms is present, go to next step. If about 350 ohms is not present, check White and Gray wires for an open circuit. If wires are okay, replace wiper switch assembly.
  3. Move wiper switch through delay range to maximum delay position. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between harness connector terminals "A" (White wire) and "C" (Gray wire). If about 500,000 ohms is present, replace wiper motor circuit board. If about 500,000 ohms is not present, If wires are okay, replace wiper switch assembly.
