Removal Procedure

NOTE: Tools Required:
  • J-42129 Wheel Hub Remover
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in WHEEL & TIRE SYSTEM.
  2. Remove the stabilizer shaft link lower retaining nut. See Figure. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the lower control arm.
  3. Remove the rear wheel drive shaft nut. See Figure.
  4. Install J-42129 to the wheel bearing/hub. See Figure. Using J-42129 disengage the wheel drive shaft from the rear wheel hub and bearing.
  5. Support the lower control arm using a jack. See Figure.
  6. Remove the lower shock mounting bolt. See Figure.
  7. Remove the lower control arm to knuckle mounting bolt. See Figure.
  8. Remove the lower control arm to frame mounting bolt and nut. See Fig 1. Separate the lower control arm from the knuckle.
  9. Lower the jack. Remove the rear coil spring and the lower control arm.
