Section 1 (HVAC System): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1999 Cadillac Eldorado and 1999 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in AIR BAG SYSTEM SAFETY article in GENERAL SERVICING.
NOTE: The Body Control Module (BCM) may also be referred as Platform Zone Module (PZM).

The Electronic Climate Control (ECC) system automatically regulates and maintains selected in-vehicle temperature between 65°F (18°C) and 85°F (29°C) regardless of changes in outside air temperature. Settings of 60°F (16°C) and 90°F (32°C) provide unregulated cooling and heating, respectively. The Climate Control Panel (CCP) is the main control for selecting in-vehicle comfort levels. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .

Main components of ECC system are A/C-Heater Programmer (ACM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM), refrigerant system, temperature sensors, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) module.
