Test C: Some Seat Functions Work

Connect test lamp between driver/passenger seat switch assembly connector (while connected) at terminals as specified. See SOME PASSENGER/DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK . For terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

SOME PASSENGER/DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK

Condition Connect Between (1) Correct Result
Hold Entire Seat Switch: FORWARD & BACK 1 (BLK/LT BLU) & 2 (BLK/PPL) (2) Test Lamp Lights
Hold Seat Back Switch: RECLINE Or UP 3 (BLK) & 4 (GRN) (2) Test Lamp Lights
Hold Front Height Switch: UP Or DOWN 5 (BLK/YEL) & 6 (BLK/PNK) (2) Test Lamp Lights
Hold Rear Height Switch: UP Or DOWN 7 (BLK/BRN) & 8 (BLK/BLU) (2) Test Lamp Lights
(1) Passenger seat: if results are correct check wires leading to seat motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no problem exists, replace seat motor. Driver seat: if results are correct, go to SOME DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK (TEST 1) .
(2) Check for short to ground in wires to terminals tested. If OK, replace seat switch assembly.

Connect test lamp between driver seat memory module connector (while connected) at terminal and location as specified. See SOME DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK (TEST 1) . For terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

SOME DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK (TEST 1)

Test Condition Connect Between (1) Correct Result
Hold Entire Seat Switch: BACK C1/6 (BLK/PPL) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Hold Entire Seat Switch: FORWARD C1/2 (BLK/LT BLU) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Front Height & Entire Seat Switch: UP C2/5 (BLK/YEL) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Rear Height & Entire Seat Switch: UP C1/4 (BLK/BRN) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Rear Height & Entire Seat Switch: DOWN C1/8 (BLK/BLU) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Front Height Switch: DOWN & Entire Seat Switch: DOWN C2/2 (BLK/PNK) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Seat Back Switch: RECLINE C2/6 (BLK) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
Seat Back Switch: UP C2/3 (GRN) & Ground (2) Test Lamp Lights
(1) If results are correct, go to SOME DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK (TEST 2) .
(2) Check/repair wiring to seat switch assembly. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Connect test lamp between driver seat motor connectors C1 and C2 (with associated switch being operated) at wire colors as specified. See SOME DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK (TEST 2) . See WIRING DIAGRAMS .

SOME DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS WORK (TEST 2)

Condition Connect Between (1) Correct Result
Entire Seat Switch: Forward & Back C1 (LT BLU) & C2 (PPL) (2) Test Lamp Lights
Rear Height Switch: Up Or Down C1 (BRN) & C2 (BLU) (2) Test Lamp Lights
Front Height Switch: Up Or Down C1 (PNK) & C2 (YEL) (2) Test Lamp Illuminates
Recline Switch: Up Or Recline C1 (Black) & C2 (Green) (2) Test Lamp Lights
(1) If results are correct, replace suspect motor.
(2) Check wires between seat memory module and suspect motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no problem exists, replace seat memory module.
