BCM Snapshot

NOTE: If directed here from TEST TYPE SELECTION under MANUAL OPERATION OF SELF-DIAGNOSTICS, go to step 2).
  1. SNAPSHOT allows the recall of system operating specifications present at the exact time a BCM malfunction code was set. Up to 3 snapshots may be recalled. To enter snapshot complete the following:
    • Enter self-diagnostics. See ENTERING SELF-DIAGNOSTICS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in this article.
    • Display trouble codes stored in memory. See DISPLAYING TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in this article.
    • Select BCM system for testing. See STEP 1: SYSTEM SELECTION under MANUAL OPERATION OF SELF-DIAGNOSTICS in this article.
    • Select SNAPSHOT test type. See STEP 2: TEST TYPE SELECTION under MANUAL OPERATION OF SELF-DIAGNOSTICS in this article.
  2. Immediately following the selection of "SNAPSHOT?", the system will display "BXXX". The letter "B" stands for BCM. XXX is used here to represent the 3-digit trouble code stored in BCM snapshot. During BCM snapshot display, a 3-digit code will appear in place of XXX.
  3. Depressing the LO button on the ECC panel will allow scrolling through the list of BCM trouble codes for which the BCM has stored a snapshot. See BCM TROUBLE CODES table for list of available BCM trouble codes and the system malfunction they represent. It is possible, however, that a desired snapshot has NOT been set, in which case, exit snapshot by depressing the RESET/RECALL button on the DIC section of the CCDIC.
  4. After display of the last BCM trouble code for which a snapshot does exist, pressing the LO button will display "TAKE BCM SNAPSHOT?". Pressing the LO button again will return the display to the first BXXX snapshot display, and allow scrolling to the desired display. Once the desired display is displayed, pressing the HI button will cause "BCM SNAP DATA?" or "BCM SNAP INPUTS?" to be displayed.
  5. Press the LO button on the ECC panel to alternate display between "BCM SNAP DATA?" and "BCM SNAP INPUTS?". Press the HI button on the ECC to select the desired display for testing.
  6. System now will automatically advance to specific test selection level. At this point, the display is controlled as it would be for non-snapshot data and input displays except that all values and status information are snapshot information. See STEP 3: SPECIFIC TEST SELECTION under MANUAL OPERATION OF SELF-DIAGNOSTICS in this article.
