Pitman Shaft Seals: Installation

Install single-lip seal and washer. Coat double-lip seal and washer with grease. Using Seal Installer (J-6219), install double-lip seal and washer. Install retaining ring. Position pitman arm onto shaft. Install NEW washer and nut. Tighten pitman arm nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Fill and bleed system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING  under LUBRICATION.
