Ignition Switch R & I: Removal

Disable SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG  . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove lower instrument panel trim panel(s) from base of steering column to access ignition switch mounted on column. Remove dimmer switch. See DIMMER SWITCH R & I  . Lift and remove ignition switch from actuator rod. Disconnect electrical connectors from ignition switch.
