Trunk & Hatch Release - Power: Testing

NOTE: On models with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems, see appropriate REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY article for specific testing of trunk/hatchback release system.

Always check following items for possible causes of system malfunction before performing any test on trunk/hatchback or rear glass release system:

Faulty fuses or circuit breakers.
Loose or corroded connectors.
Low battery charge.
Poor ground connections.
Inoperative lock or latch mechanism.
