Servo Actuation Test

  1. Remove cruise control servo electrical connector. Using a fused jumper wire, ground cruise control servo terminal "C". Jumper cruise control servo terminal "A" to positive battery post.
  2. Run engine for one minute to build up vacuum. Turn engine off. Jumper cruise control servo terminal "E" to positive battery post. Cruise control servo should pull throttle cable in and hold at full stroke.
  3. If throttle cable will not hold at full stroke, check vacuum hoses for proper vacuum, restrictions or leaks. Check brake release valve for leaks and proper adjustment. If hoses and brake release valve are okay, replace cruise control servo.
  4. If throttle cable will not hold at full stroke, depress brake pedal. Cruise control servo should release throttle. If throttle is not released, check brake release valve vacuum hose for kinks or restrictions. If vacuum hose is okay, replace brake release valve.
  5. If cruise control servo releases throttle, disconnect fused jumper from cruise control servo terminal "C". Run engine for one minute to build up vacuum. Turn engine off. Reconnect fused jumper between cruise control servo terminal "C" and ground.
  6. When cruise control servo pulls throttle cable in, disconnect fused jumper from cruise control servo terminal "A". If cruise control servo releases throttle, replace Cruise Control Module (CCM). If cruise control servo will not release, replace cruise control servo.
