Filling Engine Oil

WARNING:

If the vehicle has a diesel particulate filter, then you must always use engine oil conforming to Oil Standard VW 507 00.

W12 Engine: The oil is filled via the Blowby-module oil separator and fills very slowly. Fill the engine oil carefully! DO NOT use a small funnel, aftermarket speed filling oil device or similar! Engine damage can occur.

NOTE: Please follow specified engine oil capacity and oil standards in the maintenance table.

-- Add oil using the oil filler tube.

-- Then check the oil level.

Engines with Turbocharger:

After the engine oil and oil filter have been replaced, observe the following when first starting the engine:

As long as the oil pressure indicator lamp in the instrument cluster is on, the engine may only run in idle. Do not touch the accelerator pedal! Bumping the accelerator pedal can damage the turbocharger or destroy it completely.
Only when the warning light extinguishes, is the full oil pressure achieved, and the engine can be accelerated.
