Evaporator Temperature Sensor Test

NOTE: Before testing the sensor, check for climate control DTCs (see HOW TO CHECK FOR DTCS WITH THE HDS ).

Remove the evaporator temperature sensor (see EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT ).
Dip the sensor in ice water, and measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

Pour warm water on the sensor, and measure the resistance.
Compare the resistance readings with the specifications shown in the graph in illustration below; the resistance should be within the specifications.

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the evaporator temperature sensor (see EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT ).
