HFL Switch Test

  1. Remove the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ).
  2. Remove the HFL switch (see STEERING WHEEL DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).

  3. Measure the resistance between the terminals No. 4 and No. 5 in each switch position according to the table.

    HFL Switch 

    TERMINAL RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Position Resistance
    No button pressed About 1 kΩ
    HFL TALK button pressed About 185 Ω
    HFL BACK button pressed About 45 Ω
  4. Use a diode tester between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

  5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the switch.
