Anti-Lock Brake System - 4-Wheel: Description

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) operates on all 4 wheels. ABS operation is controlled by the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). The EBCM receives input signals from wheel speed sensors to monitor wheel speed. If EBCM determines a wheel is about to lock, hydraulic pressure is adjusted to maintain optimum braking. ABS system consists of an EBCM, "G" sensor accelerometer, hydraulic unit, ABS warning light and wheel speed sensors. SLX uses 4 wheel speed sensors.
